The department teaches a full range of courses in Fundamental theology and Religious studies, in Dogmatic theology and in Moral theology and Bioethics.

Doctoral studies

The department of systematic theology offers licentiate and doctoral studies in fundamental, dogmatic and moral theology. Internal students are expected to finish the course in three years, external students can use the maximal length of study permitted by law (7 years) with the possibility of one year interruption.

The doctoral thesis may be written in one of the accredited languages, i.e. in Czech (Slovak) and Italian. The same languages may be chosen for thesis defence and final doctoral examination. The program in Czech is free so far, the students in the Italian program pay a moderate fee. We offer high-quality education in catholic theology, which does not excludes students from other Christian churches, whose confessional identity would be taken into consideration during the studies.
